STAMPS Wayfinding

GRAPHIC DESIGN | SYSTEM DESIGN | SUSTAINABLE DESIGN

This project reimagines the wayfinding system at the Penny W. Stamps School of Art & Design in Ann Arbor, addressing the building’s navigational challenges through a modular, sustainable signage system. Inspired by existing architectural elements, the redesigned signs feature a consistent dark gray palette with color-coded accents derived from interior materials. A flexible, grid-based layout allows for easily swappable inserts, reducing long-term waste and maintenance. The system enhances clarity by limiting directional information to forward-facing paths, creating a logical and contemporary visual language tailored to the creative nature of the space.
